General Information:

Antimycogram is used in case of isolation of a fungal agent from various microbiological materials.

Specific antifungal preparations (voriconazole, itraconazole, fluconazole, ketoconazole, clotrimazole, nystatin) for topical, oral and intravenous use and special media and equipment for this type of pathogen are used.

The major cause of fungal infection is Candida (C.albicans, C.tropicalis, C.kruzei, C.parapsylosis). These types of fungus cause a disease called candidiasis. Candida is found in the oral cavity, gastrointestinal tract, vagina, urethra, skin surfaces and other places. Candidiasis occurs when the condition of the beneficial microflora is disturbed due to stress, contamination, antibiotic intake, anabolic activity, a weakened immune system. Some authors associate reactions to allergy, toxicity and immune reactions again with candida infections.

Some of the unpleasant symptoms that patients experience are itching, redness, runny nose, burning urination, stomach swelling, frequent heartburn, an unpleasant sensation around the anus, a taxed tongue, a strong vaginal discharge that may be yellowish and burning.
