Hepatitis D - HDV Ig M
General information:
Hepatitis is inflammation of the liver, which can be provoked by various factors - parasites, alcohol, drugs, viral agents, mechanical irritants. It summarizes any liver disease, no matter what its etiology.
Hepatitis D is a viral infection that can cause lung inflammation only in people who have had hepatitis B or are carriers of its virus.
Infection with the hepatitis D virus causes a severe course of acute hepatitis or to become chronic. Hepatitis B carriers infected with hepatitis D are much more at risk of developing liver cirrhosis and the complications associated with this condition.
The cause of viral hepatitis D is a defect in a virus called hepatitis delta virus - HDV. The core of this virus is made up of a specific protein that has antigenic properties and single-stranded RNA. HBsAg is detected in its envelope, which is why the cell needs to be infected with hepatitis B for the development of the virus.
