Rheumatoid factor - quantitative
General information:
Rheumatoid factor (RF) is a protein made by your immune system that can attack healthy tissues in your body. Healthy people don't do RF. So, the presence of RF in your blood may indicate that you have an autoimmune disease. Sometimes people without any medical problems produce a small amount of RF. This test detects and measures the amount of RF in the blood. If you have symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, such as joint pain, swelling, and stiffness, your doctor may use a rheumatoid factor blood test to diagnose it.
