Hb - Chromatography
General information:
Hb - Chromatography is used to detect different types of hemoglobins in blood. Hemoglobin is contained in red blood cells and is involved in carrying oxygen to the tissues.
Hemoglobin electrophoresis is carried out in any of the following cases:
- To detect a certain hemoglobin in the blood to diagnose a certain type of anemia (eg thalassemia).
- To check the effect of the treatment.
- To determine the probability that a couple will have a child with a certain form of anemia in diseases that are inherited.
