General information:
APTT refers to the group of hemostasis clinical laboratory indicators. It is also known as Kephalin-kaolin time. It is a screening test for assessing the activity of the so-called internal blood coagulation system (f.XII, XI, IX, VIII, X, V, II and I).
Its determination is important in patients with problematic blood coagulation - bleeding, thrombosis, control of treatment with unfractionated heparin, oral anticoagulants, etc. It is examined in suspected cases of hemophilia and von Willebrand disease.
