Lactate
General information:
Increased lactic acid concentration in the blood can be expected when increased oxidation in the cells produces increased amounts of lactate that outweigh the possibility of hepatocytes for processing or in cases where healing and processing of the lactic acid in the liver tissue is impaired. It is possible to combine the two processes, for example in the case of impaired oxygen intake for the needs of the body. As a result, there may be a sharp rise in lactic acid concentration with a corresponding effect on the alkaline-acid state (lactic acidosis).
