Gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT)
General information:
Gamma-glutamyltransferase (GGT) is an enzyme that carries glutamyl residues from one of the other peptides. It participates in the transport of amino acids and peptides through the cell membranes. This enzyme has high concentrations in structures and organs with intense protein synthesis and secretion, such as liver cells, bile capillaries, spleen, pancreas, proximal renal tubules, prostate, etc.
