General Information:
Information on the presence of Ig E on gluten is available to support the diagnosis of food allergy to gluten and gluten-containing foods (wheat, rye, oats, barley).
The laboratory offers to test for gluten and in panels with other food allergens. Gluten allergy is a histamine-mediated reaction, the patients mainly complain of rashes, pruritus, swelling of anaphylaxis and shock after allergen consumption. This is not a study of celiac disease. In some cases, negative results may only be a type of food intolerance that may not identify specific antibodies.
